Global ID is a Ruby library that generates URIs for models in Ruby on Rails applications, enabling identification of model instances across different systems and databases. It provides a way to reference models globally and securely encode their information into strings that can be used in URLs, jobs, caches and other places where direct database IDs would be vulnerable or inappropriate.
