FabEdge is positioned as a kubernetes CNI for edge-computing scenario. FabEdge builds a layer 3 data plane using IPSec tunnels in additional to the control plan managed by other projects, such as kubeEdge, etc. It co-exists with any existing CNI, e.g. Calico/Flannel, in the cluster at cloud and serves as the cross-site interconnection including cloud-to-edge and edge-to-edge. We also plan to support the case of "edge cluster", which can be any k8s cluster, such as k3s, at edge. With FabEdge, the pod in edge cluster can access the pod in cloud/edge clusters.
